How to generate a HandBrake Query

Posted: December 15, 2010 in HandBrake, Windows

I was checking the incoming google searches to the blog yesterday and this is one of the most searched for terms.

If you are looking for details on what goes into a HB query then you’re probably best to review the Hb forums for detailed explanations on all of the settings. If all you want to do is make the query and export it for use in my scripts, then read on….

Open HB GUI.

Enable the query editor – Tools > Options > Advanced Tab . Check the box ‘enable query editor’ > Close. restart HB.

Now select a base profile without selecting any input or output files. Make any specific changes you want in the UI.

Now select the ‘query editor’ tab and click ‘generate query’.

Select all the text in the box . CTRL+C to copy it (there is no right click available)

paste that where required into any of my scripts or Ui and you are all set.
