Love your work! I use the batch Meta and batch Encoder all the time and both work well.
I recently decided to start using the Watchfolder script (downloaded at the above link) to auto convert all my stuff. I am having the same issue another poster had earlier this year where by it will acknowledge that it is watching that folder, but then never actually start encoding? I checked and HB CLI is installed in the videoscript folder, tried on 0 min delay, 5 min delay, 10 min delay, etc.
The only thing I could think of is that maybe I added the files to the Watch Folder prior having the program running? Could this affect anything? Any other suggestions?

Hi. Watch folder only looks for new files. So, it will ignore any files present when it is run. Only new files placed in the folder while its running will be passed to encode. What it does not do is compare what has been added t the folder sine the last time it ran. Only looks while its running. Let me know if that helps.
First of all, thank you for the awesome job. I just tried out the Handbrake watch folder app today and it is working great on the first try. I did have one question for you. Is there a way to see the progress or status of the encode’s in progress similar to what you have for the Metadata Batcher?
@Fritzscorner – yes this is on the list. I didn’t do it originally as i though the use case was for one file at a time added. Should be updated this month.

I’m running watchfolder on Windows Vista. The eta shows at the bottom right when it is encoding. However, there is some glitch that cuts off the time remaining. In essence, either the box is not wide enough or is not tall enough. Is there a way to correct this?
To be honest I have moot tested that on vista and vista does render UI components differently. It’s likely that just the box is too small. I will fix in next release.

There’s only one point I don’t like: when encoding a bunch of files the program seems to be a little attention whore: it steals other windows focus everytime it switches to the next file in the queue. I like to set the encoding priority to low and play some games while encoding files and every few minutes I get thrown out of the games due to BatchEncoder. It’d be great if this tool could run as a real background job.
Hi. yes this is a known issue. I am working on addressing it. When I planned the app I envisaged it running on a dedicated machine, hence the issue.
